Schemes / Programmes
Rajeev Gandhi Gramin Vidhyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY)
Rajeev Gandhi Gramin Vidhyutikaran Yojana was launched by Govt. of India, for rural electrification throughout the country. It aims to achieve electrification of all the villages in the Barmer district by creating Rural Electricity Distribution Backbone (REDB) at block level and Village Electrification Infrastructure (VEI) at village level. REDB ensure at least one S/S in each block while VEI means that there should be at least one distribution transformer in each village. To achieve 100% electrification of below poverty line (BPL) households by providing free connections to such households is another aim of RGGVY. Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Limited is nominated as nodal agency for RGGVY. Central PSU Power Grid have been identified a consultant for RGGVY. The scheme of Rs.208.23 Crore has been sanctioned by the REC.
Kutir Jyoti Yojana
Kutir Jyoti Yojana is an annual programme to provide free single point electric connections to the BPL households in rural areas. In previous five years, a total of 8935 nos. of connections released. In current year 1368 connections have been released so far.
Mukhyamantri Sabke Liye Vidhyut Yojana (MSLVY)
RGGVY covers all the Villages & Dhanies having population more than 100 while MSLVY covers rest of villages having population less than 100 & priority will be given to these villages/dhanies. This Scheme has been launched by the State Government to electrify villages which are not covered under RGGVY.
Feeder Renovation Programme (FRP)
The distribution systems were suffering from very high distribution losses as well as poor quality of infrastructure which need to be improved by making proper capital investment on techno economic considerations to finally affect turn around of the DISCOM. FRP has been conceived as one of the key activities besides other programmes to achieve good results.
Objectives of FRP:
Following are the Key-Objectives of Feeder Renovations Programme:
i) Reduce distribution losses on 11 KV feeders to a level below 15%.
ii) Reduce burning rate of distribution transformers on renovated feeders.
iii) Improve quality of power supply and make it interruption free.
iv) Consequent to loss reduction, 24 hours domestic and non-domestic supply to be provided in rural areas to remove disparity between Rural & Urban areas.
v) To make investment supported technical interventions for prevention of theft.
vi) Segregation of Domestic & Agricultural Supply.
vii) Interruption Free Block Supply to Agriculture Consumers.
viii) Increasing Consumer Satisfaction Level.
